Luang Phor Tim of Wat Changhai is without question the most
famous monk that created Luang Phor Thuad amulets, blessing the
very first example in BE 2497.
He continued to create and bless this style of sacred amulet
until BE 2512.
Other than the 2497 batch probably the most sought after are
those that he blessed in BE 2505, but nowadays these amulets
attract premium prices, and often well beyond the budget of the
average collector.
As always most experienced collectors know
that there are equally good alternatives,
particularly amulets blessed by him
and released from other temples such as Wat Prasat, Wat
Muong, Wat Dee-Luang and Wat Tani Norasamosorn...all of
which are highly collectible and more often than not the
pims of choice for clever collectors.
In this article I will look at the LP Thuad
amulets released from Wat Prasat Bunyavas, Bangkok, in the
year BE 2506
These are some of
the most highly venerated LP Thuad amulets in Thailand, not only
because of price but also the numerous accounts of the divine
efficacy. Any good collector should possess at least one of
these amulets.
The account of
these amulets was detailed by Phra Kru Prasatanomagun (Wichian
Vajiro) the current Abbot of Wat Prasat, who himself was
involved with the creation of these superb amulets.
The legend is
quite fascinating. Originally Wat Prasat was named Wat Khwid and
it is said that LP Thuad used to make pilgrimage here.
In the year BE
2498 the temple caught fire, almost everything was consumed by
the flames. Luang Phor Thuad came to Acarya Tim in a dream
requesting that he renovate Wat Khwid.
LP Tim approached
the man that the man that made the original Iron backside shaped
moulds of HRH Prince Chaloemphol Dikhamphorn who assisted him
along with Phra Kru Smuh Amphol to create a new batch of LP
Thuad amulets at Wat Prasat.
These amulets
contain very high proportions of original powders from the BE
2497 series along
a
mixture of very auspicious components including fragments of
many ancient amulets such as Somdej Bang Khun Prom and Somdej
Wat Rakhang.
The amulets were
made in BE 2505 and blessed in BE 2506 by more than 200 senior
monks of the highest reverence at Wat Prasat.
