Takrut Nungsuer Maha Ut
Many senior monks have created sacred Takruts using animal fur, and in particular the tiger, because it is believed that the worshipper would be endowed with the inherent power and respect of the tiger whilst at the same time blessed with success.
Most such amulets are made with standard tiger skins but these particular takruts, known as Takrut Nangsuer are different, being made from hides that have been carefully selected, and as such worshippers believe that they are that much more powerful.
Luang Phor Ngern selected only those skins where the fur of the forehead and back lay in a particular direction. Buddhists believe that the direction ‘right’ is far more auspicious than left. As you are probably aware, in most Buddhist ceremonies, devotees will walk around the temple in the ‘right’ direction, as left is believed to be bad luck.
