Previous to this amulet, Luang Phor Daeng’s released a series of
takrut amulets made from bullet
shells, these were also highly
popular, particularly with
police and soldiers, working on
the front line in the fight
against terrorism.
It was no surprise therefore that once he had announced this new
series of amulets there was a
rush to reserve them, for the
fear that they would be sold
out. We were lucky to have
reserved two, which we now have
in our possession.
Luang Phor Thuad ( Songnum B.E.2551 Lungkasuka series) amulets were
named so because Langkasuka was
the name of an ancient city,
where the populace enjoyed peace
and prosperity. Luang Phor Dang
decided to use the name of this
city to name his new amulets.
Luang Phor Daeng was a close disciple of Luang Phor Suk ,Wat Tuyong
and also educated by Luang Phor
Poom, the former abbot of Wat
Raibangtawa.
Luang Phor Dang said that he alone could not create sufficiently
powerful Luang Phor Thuad
amulets, and as such enlisted
the help of many senior monks,
including the souls of many who
had passed away, such as the
Luang Phor Poom and Luang Phor
Tim of Wat Chang Hai.
Luang Phor Dang, was born as Chai-ya Polboon, in Nongjik District,
Pattani Province. He was
officially ordained by three
senior monks namely Luang Por
Suk of Wat Tuyong, Prakru
Pitaksuwannakorn and Prakru
Visarnkijjatorn of Wat
Mujjalintavapiviharn.
The first monk to create Luang Phor Thuad amulets was Luang Phor
Tim, the former abbot of Wat
Chang Hai, between
B.E.2497-B.E.2512.
In B.E.2514, the sacred soul of Luang Phor Tim had told Ajahn Nong
in a dream, that he must create
a new series of LP Thuad amulets
because during that no one else
was suitably qualified to do so.
Since then Luang Phor Nong created several series of LP Tuad-family
amulets, which were highly
popular.
After Luang Phor Nong passed away in B.E.2541, many other monks had
created further series of LP
Thuad amulets but the most
popular being those created by
Luang Phor Tim, Luang Phor Nong,
Luang Phor Tong, and Luang Phor
Daeng of Wat Raibangtawa.
This should also explain why these particular series of amulets were
instantly popular, both in
Thailand and internationally. |
