Sanwee is a name of an ancient Kingdom, which was dominated by Thai Yai, a tribe of Burmese.
During that time it was common practice to give homage to the king once a year when a special celebration was held. The king was presented with large quantities of bananas on Payawan day, a highly scared occasion.
It was believed that the quantity of bananas’ was directly related to the degree of charm and attractiveness of the king and as such it was common practice to give as much as was possible. In fact the word Sanwee means a quantity of 100,000 bundles of bananas.
A new sacred charming science was evolved around this tradition and called Khun Paen Sanwee. It is said that amulets created using this science can produce particularly rapid results.
